General Site Crew

Reporting to Site Manager / Tent Master to provide labour for efficient, safe setup, maintenance and tear-down of all tents and provide support for show work calls as well as helping maintain props and set pieces. This job requires applicant to tour with the production in the UK and to live in mobile accommodation, which will be supplied by the company.  Applicant must be willing to work evenings and weekends, while on tour.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assisting in erecting / dismantling tents, stages and seats.
  • Assisting with all prop and rigging moves during performances and load in / load out when the circus moves.
  • To work the show and show related maintenance duties when assigned by the Site Manager.
  • Provide assistance during rehearsals and on tour to accomplish non-tent related duties.
  • Assist in the set-up / tear-down of the Big Top and support tents at the discretion of the Site Manager. Duties may include, but are not limited to: setting and levelling bunk wagons, running water pipes and electrical cables, setting up the foyer and toilets, cleaning, painting, litter picking, and other jobs as needed.
  • Load and unload trucks – requiring physical moving and lifting of product weighting as much as 150 pounds.
  • Drive company vehicles.
  • Ability to work at heights.

Physical Demands

This position involves hard work, climbing and heavy lifting. This work involves standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, stooping and other physical activities consistent with setting up technical equipment. Work may include lifting, carrying or moving objects and equipment weighing over 100 pounds.

Personal Specification

  • Experience working on a circus / building / construction site.
  • Basic knowledge of Health and Safety at work.
  • A proven efficient self-starter who enjoys being a team member.
  • Excellent proven interpersonal skills.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to interact with a wide range of people.
