Hyde Park Events Through the Year

Hyde Park is one of London’s eight Royal Parks, looked after by The Royal Parks charity, and there’s something taking place in every season.

BST Hyde Park in June and July

American Express presents BST Hyde Park, a run of open-air concerts over several weeks each summer. In 2026 it ran from 27 June to 12 July, with free Open House days between the headline shows. Dates for June and July 2027 haven’t been announced yet.

The Serpentine

The Serpentine lake runs through the middle of the park, with lakeside paths and cafés. Every Christmas morning, Serpentine Swimming Club members race across the lake for the Peter Pan Cup, first presented by J.M. Barrie in 1904.

Speakers’ Corner, in the north-east corner of Hyde Park, has been a place for public debate in London for generations. Karl Marx and George Orwell are among those who spoke there.

Kensington Gardens and Kensington Palace

West of the Serpentine Bridge, Kensington Gardens is another of London’s Royal Parks. The gardens were originally part of Kensington Palace, where Queen Victoria was born. Highlights include the Italian Gardens, the Peter Pan statue by the Long Water, the Diana Princess of Wales Memorial Playground and the free Serpentine galleries. Lancaster Gate and Queensway stations on the Central line are close by.
