Catering Assistant

Reporting to the Front of House Manager to act as a point of welcome to the show. To be trained to work in a busy front of house catering kiosk; this role includes but are not limited to; kiosk sales, basic food preparation, cooking and preparing food for sale, stock handling, cash handling and all associated cleaning duties in the kitchen. To assist with the successful delivery of first class sales and customer service in line with the show. To adhere at all times to health and safety, licencing regulations. This job requires applicant to tour with the production in the UK and to live in mobile accommodation, which will be supplied by the company.  Applicant must be willing to work evenings and weekends, while on tour.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • To prepare food for sale at the kiosks whilst complying to all food hygiene standards.

  • To serve customers to the circus in the kiosks.

  • To assist with the maintenance of excellent hygiene levels.

  • To keep workstations clean and tidy.

  • To be pro-active in food and bar sales to ensure maximum profitability

  • To adhere to and assist with stock control procedures.

  • To accept and check stock deliveries.

  • To accurately record cash takings.

  • To advise on stock purchases and quantities.

  • To ensure all cash and stock is kept safely whilst on the promises.

  • To deal effectively with any customer problems and enquires.

  • Be on call for emergencies.

  • To attend all training sessions

Personal Specification

  • Keen interest in the arts & in particular the Circus

  • Friendly & warm personality.

  • Commitment to high levels of customer service, with experience of dealing with customers.

  • Strong English communication skills and the ability to interact with a wide range of people.

  • Enthusiastic team worker with excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to use your initiative and prioritise tasks.

  • Ability to work well under pressure.

  • Has experience in busy catering environment.

  • Accurate cash-handling skills.

  • Must have Level 2 Basic Food Hygiene qualification.
